Yazid Oulab, Residency February to July 2009
Born in Constantine, Algeria, in 1958, he lives and works in Marseille. Yazid Oulab is represented in France by Galerie Éric Dupont, where he has had several solo exhibitions. In 2008, he took part in the exhibition Les Traces du Sacré, at the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou. His work is represented in several public collections in France and Luxembourg.
In his work, Yazid Oulab uses different modes of expression: drawing, video, sculpture and installation.
Yazid Oulab's residency at Atelier Calder will be an opportunity for him to conceive a new series of works taking up the theme of the link recently developed in his work. This notion of link will be expressed through the use of rope or wire and the creation of monumental works.
