Atelier Calder offers an annual programme of two residencies.

Residency No. 1: March – June
Residency No. 2: September – December

For Residency No. 2, the selected artist is invited to take part in the AR(t]CHIPEL Festival through the presentation at Atelier Calder of the works created during their stay.

This open call for applications is aimed at artists who have been engaged in a professional practice for several years, of French or foreign nationality, with no age limit, and who have an established professional career on the international art scene.

Artists are selected through an open call for applications.

Applications can only be submitted during an open call, and the forms will be made available here at that time. Unsolicited applications are not taken into consideration.

Due to the high number of requests, we are unable to respond to inquiries regarding the publication dates of open calls for applications. The best way to stay informed is to subscribe to our newsletter.

Residency conditions

The artist is provided with a 300 m² two-level studio equipped with general tools, a fully equipped house (450 m²), and a vehicle. The artist must hold a French or international driving licence. Artists may be accompanied by their family.

A team of two staff members (the residency manager and the residency coordinator) supports the artist by providing technical assistance for production, as well as administrative and logistical support.

Financial support

Each artist receives a residency grant of €5,000 and an artistic production support budget of €6,000.
